LearningFlow vs Beautiful.ai
Beautiful.ai makes better-looking decks than we do, and its layout engine keeps a large team's slides consistent. The difference is scope: here the deck is one file beside the spreadsheet, the narrated video and the lesson a class has been set.

Choose Beautiful.ai if
The deck is the deliverable, and it has to look right coming from thirty different people.
- A sales team of forty rebuilds the same pitch deck every quarter
- Marketing wants one locked theme and an approved slide library nobody can edit
- You want to know which slide a prospect stopped reading on
Choose LearningFlow if
The deck is one step, and what happens either side of it is the real job.
- The slides, the worksheet and the marking rubric come out of one login
- A Year 7 class has to be set the work and seen to have done it
- A teacher leaves in July and the department keeps everything she made
Where the two are built differently.
One part of the job, done well.
This is a good product at what it does. The question for a school is what else is on the invoice: each remaining job is another product, another bill, another set of logins, and a handover you do by hand every time.
Idea to a class that has done it.
One login, one pool of credits, one place the spending shows up. A video drops into a lesson, the lesson becomes an assignment, the assignment writes to a base and an app reads it — nothing is exported and re-imported.
What each one does.
Written from each product's own documentation. Where something is true only on a higher tier, the row says so.
| Beautiful.ai | LearningFlow | |
|---|---|---|
| Slide design | Smart Slides re-align, resize and animate content across more than 300 layouts that lay themselves out as you type. | A .pptx built by python-pptx and checked in LibreOffice. No layout engine corrects your spacing. |
| Audience analytics | Share links report views, completion rate and which slides held attention. | No share-link tracking. Class activity is recorded over xAPI to a learning record store, ours or your own. |
| Buying for an institution | No bulk or institutional licences. University students verify a .edu address for a free year of Pro. | Credits from one organisation wallet. No seat count to agree first. |
| Who keeps the work | At removal an Owner may hand a leaver's presentations to that person's own personal workspace. | The organisation ID is stamped at creation and never moves. Removal deletes the membership row. |
| Per-person controls | Four documented roles: Owner, Librarian, Member, Guest. None of them carries a per-feature switch for AI. | Seven capabilities switched per member, after a role has granted the key. |
| Students as users | Guests are free and can edit decks shared with them, but cannot create their own. There is no student account type. | Students are their own user type, with accounts, join codes and assignments. |
| Choosing the model | Beautiful.ai chooses the model behind DesignerBot. There is no selector for the user. | In Flow Designer, pick Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Grok or DeepSeek among others. The only gate is an admin override. |
| Calling it from your code | One early-access endpoint turns a prompt into a deck, with an API key as a bearer token. | POST /task/:taskId with an API key, optional streaming, and credit top-up per key. |
What comes with it here.
A Linux machine that makes files
Ask for a marking spreadsheet and a .xlsx comes back with working formulas in the cells.
A narrated whiteboard video
One sentence becomes an MP4 with a voice, in 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1, subtitles burned in or as an .srt.
59 tools already written
Lesson plans, rubrics, quizzes, worksheets, report comments and text levelling, ready for staff to run today.
Several apps, one database
A staff console, a nightly job and a public page share one database. Each gets its own contract, and a public page's is read-only.
Where Beautiful.ai is the better choice
If the deck is the deliverable, Beautiful.ai wins on craft and we will not pretend otherwise. Smart Slides is a real layout engine, not a template gallery, so forty people who are not designers still produce slides that look related. Add locked themes, a curated library with a Librarian who owns it, and per-slide viewer analytics, and a marketing or sales team has a better tool than anything we offer. A .pptx from our sandbox is a working file, not a designed one.
The whole stack against Beautiful.ai.
The table above compares the two at the job they share. This one runs every capability past both, because what a school is choosing between is usually a tool that does one job and a workspace that does many. Hover any mark to see what it means, and a partial one to see exactly what is limited.

Before they decide.
Can we buy Beautiful.ai for a whole school or college?
Not as an institutional product. Its help centre says it does not currently offer bulk or institutional licences. Students at an accredited university can verify a .edu address for a free year of Pro, which covers neither school pupils nor staff. Staff seats are bought like any business: $14.50 a month on Pro billed annually, or $40 per user a month on Team, which runs from 2 to 20 seats.
If a teacher leaves in July, who keeps the slides?
In Beautiful.ai the admin decides at the moment of removal, choosing between handing the presentations to that person's own workspace, passing them to another member, or deleting them. In LearningFlow the organisation ID is stamped when the work is created and never moves, so removing someone removes their membership row and nothing else.
Can we run both?
Yes, and many teams should. Build the showcase deck in Beautiful.ai, export the editable PowerPoint, and keep the worksheet, the video, the class and the assignment here. Nothing in LearningFlow needs to own your slides, and credits are spent only when you use them.
Can an admin turn AI off for one department?
Not in Beautiful.ai. Its documented roles are Owner, Librarian, Member and Guest, and none of them carries a per-feature switch for AI. LearningFlow switches seven capabilities per member, and a role grants the key before the member opts in.
What files actually come out of each?
Beautiful.ai exports editable PowerPoint with speaker notes, PowerPoint as images, Google Slides, PDF and single slides as JPEG, though animations and recorded narration do not survive the export. LearningFlow returns .pptx, .xlsx, .docx, .mp4, .mp3 and .png from a sandbox that has no internet access while it works.
