Choose Synthesia if
Choose Synthesia when the deliverable is a person on screen, in many languages, and there are dozens of videos to make.
- A compliance module that must ship in 25 languages with correct lip-sync in every one of them.
- A policy changes in March and every embed and LMS package has to update without a re-export.

This is a good product at what it does. The question for a school is what else is on the invoice: each remaining job is another product, another bill, another set of logins, and a handover you do by hand every time.

One login, one pool of credits, one place the spending shows up. A video drops into a lesson, the lesson becomes an assignment, the assignment writes to a base and an app reads it — nothing is exported and re-imported.

Work with AI runs Python, pandas and LibreOffice in a sandbox, then hands back an .xlsx whose formulas still calculate.
A contract per app
Each app inside a solution gets its own contract: seven permissions scoped to named tables, named columns and a row filter, with an expiry and a revocation mode. An app published to the public gets a read-only contract.

Where Synthesia is the better choice
If you need a person on screen, Synthesia is the tool and it is not close. An L&D team shipping a 25-language compliance module wants 240+ stock avatars, dubbing that lip-syncs, and a share page whose analytics give the completion rate. On Enterprise their LMS export does things ours cannot: a quiz inside the video that branches on the answer and reports a score, a pass or a fail and each question's response, in SCORM 1.2 or 2004. Republish a new version and every share link, embed and package already uploaded to the LMS updates itself, with no re-export. Ours never marks an answer, and never puts a presenter on camera. The one thing we do that they do not: their package is a 100KB wrapper around a video hosted by Synthesia, so it needs a live connection and cannot resume where a learner stopped, where ours carries the MP4 inside it and does both.

Before they decide.
Can LearningFlow make a video with a presenter in it?
No. Whiteboard Studio makes one thing: a narrated whiteboard video in marker, sticker or slides style, as an MP4 at 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1, with subtitles off, as a .srt file, or burned in. There is no avatar, no stock footage and no timeline editor.
Can we run both?
Yes, and many teams should. Keep Synthesia for the presenter-led modules, and spend LearningFlow credits on the explainers, the worksheets and the assignments around them. There is no migration to do either way, because a Synthesia MP4 is a file and it plays wherever you put it.
Can pupils use either product?
In LearningFlow, students have their own accounts, join codes and assignments. Synthesia's privacy policy says the services are not targeted at under-16s and that it does not knowingly allow minors to use the platform, and its Learner Portal is built for employees synced from an HR system such as Workday.
If a teacher leaves in July, does the school keep the videos?
In LearningFlow the organisation is stamped on the object at creation and that never moves, so removing the member deletes their membership row and leaves the work in place. In Synthesia on Enterprise, shared workspace content stays and personal videos move into a folder named after the leaver's email, though personal avatars are excluded from that move.
Does LearningFlow export SCORM?
Yes, for the video. Whiteboard Studio exports a finished video as a self-contained SCORM 1.2 zip: the MP4 and the player are inside it, so it runs with no internet and picks up where the learner stopped. It reports completion once they have played the share you set, 90% by default. A deck or a quiz has no SCORM button, there is no SCORM 2004, AICC or cmi5, and the only score it can send is the percent watched — there are no questions in a video to mark. Synthesia's goes further on Enterprise: a quiz inside the video reporting a score, a pass or fail and each answer, in 1.2 or 2004. Theirs is a 100KB wrapper around a video they host, so it needs a live connection and does not resume. The rest of our reporting is xAPI: ingest a package, use the SQL LRS we host, or point at your own.
