LearningFlow vs VideoScribe
VideoScribe makes hand-drawn whiteboard animations, and makes them with craft: millions of images that draw on screen, a choice of hand and pen, and the draw time of every element set by you. LearningFlow makes one narrower kind of whiteboard video, and it sits in a workspace rather than on a per-editor licence.

Choose VideoScribe if
Choose VideoScribe when the drawing itself is the deliverable and you want to direct how it is drawn.
- A marketing team needs a 90-second explainer where one illustration is drawn stroke by stroke.
- The brand wants a particular hand or pen, and the same pause after every element.
- School wifi drops in and out all afternoon and the editing has to survive it.
Choose LearningFlow if
Choose LearningFlow when video is one of several things a department produces, and most staff make one or two a year.
- Forty teachers might make two videos a year each, so forty editing licences are hard to justify.
- One job needs a narrated MP4, a worksheet and ten quiz questions, and one login and one credit pool cover all three.
- A teacher leaves in July and the school needs everything she made.

This is a good product at what it does. The question for a school is what else is on the invoice: each remaining job is another product, another bill, another set of logins, and a handover you do by hand every time.

One login, one pool of credits, one place the spending shows up. A video drops into a lesson, the lesson becomes an assignment, the assignment writes to a base and an app reads it — nothing is exported and re-imported.

Flow Designer reaches Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Grok and DeepSeek among others, and no plan gates that list.
The school keeps it
A flow or a video is stamped with the organisation when it is made, so a teacher leaving in July changes nothing.
Where VideoScribe is the better choice
If your product is the animation itself, buy VideoScribe. Its images are line drawings the app redraws on screen, so you choose the hand or the pen, and how long each element takes to appear, sit and leave. LearningFlow offers three styles and a scene you can correct, and nothing finer than that. And if the video you need is a presenter talking to camera, neither of us fits; that job belongs to an avatar tool.

Before they decide.
We already use VideoScribe. Can we run both?
Yes, and some teams should. Nothing imports a VideoScribe project and nothing exports one, so the MP4 is the only file that moves between them. Keep a Core or Max licence for the animations where the drawing matters, and use LearningFlow for the rest of the department's work.
Can students have their own accounts?
In LearningFlow, yes: students are a first-class user type with join codes and assignments. VideoScribe has no learner account. A student needs the same licence a teacher has, bought alone or as a place on a school's multi-user account, with up to 25% off for teachers, students and institutions. You claim it on Sparkol's education enquiry form using the email address your school gave you, or through UNiDAYs if you are a student in the US or UK.
Which AI model writes the script?
Sparkol names none anywhere, and there is no selector. What changes by tier is quota: 5, 20, 50 or 100 images a month, and 2, 30, 75 or 150 minutes of script. In LearningFlow's Flow Designer you choose the model, from Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Grok and DeepSeek among others.
Does either of you do SCORM?
LearningFlow does now, for video: a Whiteboard Studio video exports as a SCORM 1.2 zip with the MP4 inside it, and the LMS is told complete when the learner has played enough of it — a percentage you set, and dragging the scrubber earns nothing. Only the video: a deck or a quiz has no SCORM button, so those stay xAPI, the self-hosted LRS or a launch from Moodle, and it is SCORM 1.2 only, not 2004, AICC or cmi5. VideoScribe documents no LMS integration at all, so you upload the MP4 wherever the course lives.
Can we match the VideoScribe look?
Not element by element. LearningFlow gives you three styles, marker, sticker and slides, three aspect ratios that change how the video is generated rather than cropping it, and a scene you can correct before the render. VideoScribe gives you the hand, the pen and the timing of every element.
